On a Monday just like any other I was in Washington DC, but before the next week began I found myself in a village of three thousand people in Central Ukraine. I didn't understand a word of the language, and of course, no one understood me either. Just one plane ride turned my life completely upside down - This is the story of my Peace Corps Journey.I describe my path as a Peace Corps Volunteer from 2018 to 2020, including all of the sink or swim experiences that come with starting a new job with a new language in a completely foreign place. From being in Ukraine during martial law due to tensions with Russia, to living through the first election since the Maidan Revolution in 2014, to getting evacuated due to Covid-19, my experience in Ukraine was packed with all sorts of once in a lifetime experiences, and now I have the pleasure of sharing them all with you.If you're interested in the Peace Corps, Ukrainian culture and history, the Ukrainian conflict with Russia, or what it was like to lose everything after Covid-19, this is the book for you.
