What Is The Rainbow Diet? Quite simply, the Rainbow Diet, is an organizing framework to put your body, psychology, eating, and living together into one view. This is important, because many nutrition paradigms or diets are fragmented. They see the foods you eat, but not your lifestyle and how everything is interconnected. The Rainbow Diet provides a real-time navigation map that gets you where you need to be with food, taking into consideration all aspects of your life. I’ll use the colors of the rainbow to help guide you through: Red for the grounding, physical issues of your body Orange for your creative, playful, emotional side Yellow for the bright radiance of your intellect Green for the expansion of your heart Aquamarine to represent your personal truths and speaking Indigo for the deeper knowledge and intuition we all carry White for your spiritual self, or your ability to be connected with something greater Green/LOVE System The color green represents the healing qualities of love. It is referred to as the LOVE, signifying our compassion and devotion to ourselves and others. The LOVE in your body nourishes systems of expansion, opening, and giving. These include armpits, arms, blood vessels, breasts, hands, heart, lungs, lymphatic system, shoulders and wrists. The LOVE is connected to these physiological activities breathing, circulation, and oxygenation. Recipes for Your Systems of Health The LOVE System - Rosemary Roasted Cauliflower and Pine Nuts 1 large head organic cauliflower 2 cloves of garlic, peeled and minced 1⁄8 cup extra-virgin olive oil 1 tbsp. fresh rosemary 1⁄2 cup raw pine nuts Sea salt Fresh-ground pepper Preheat oven to 425°F. Break apart cauliflower into bite-sized pieces or florets and place in large mixing bowl. Add garlic and stir throughout. Pour in olive oil and ensure that all cauliflower pieces are drizzled with oil. Sprinkle with rosemary, pine nuts, salt and pepper. Transfer mixture evenly onto baking sheet and set, uncovered, in oven for 20–25 minutes or until the top and edges of cauliflower are lightly brown. Serve immediately. Serves 2 to 3 The INSIGHT SYSTEM – Green Tea/Berry Freeze 1 cup water 2 green tea bags 2 cups frozen mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)1 1⁄2 cups organic coconut milk 1⁄4 cup pomegranate juice Boil water and add to tea bags. Steep for 5 minutes. In meantime, combine mixed berries, milk, and juice in a blender until smooth. Add tea to berry blend. Drink as a smoothie or freeze if you prefer to eat as a sorbet. Serves 2 to 3 The FLOW System – Flowing Ginger Mango Smoothie 1 ripe mango, peeled and sliced2 cups unsweetened coconut milk2 tbsp. ground flaxseed mealPinch ground ginger Blend all ingredients in blender until smooth.
