Ron Barker worked in college sports for over 20 years as a coach, member of the NCAA enforcement staff and Associate Commissioner of one of the large college conferences where he investigated and helped schools in the middle of allegations of NCAA rules violations. In the Reluctant Players, which is based on a true story, a junior college basketball coach helps his players cheat on a math course then blackmails the players into attending a Division I NCAA university so that he can be hired as an assistant coach. The NCAA is called in to investigate. The university hires Matt Colter to help them sort through the mess.
