What Is Energy Healing? Everything is energy. The physical objects we consider “inanimate,” such as rocks, books, or furniture, all hold intelligent light codes of energy that act as the blueprint for their physical existence. Your physical body is comprised of ibrating atoms and subatomic particles of energy, which create the physical form. Energy healing works with the subtle energy fields and systems in and around the body to create equilibrium and balance. In this chapter, we’ll talk about the history and types of energy healing available to you to support your personal spiritual and energetic evolution. The Chakras The chakras are energy centers located in and extending out of our physical body. These energy centers govern, digest, process, and send out energetic information and signals throughout our physical body. They are essentially the energetic computer command centers that tell our glands, organs, tissues, and body what to do. The chakras fluctuate constantly and adjust according to the energy and patterns of the individual’s personality, emotions, habits, thoughts, actions, and lifestyle choices, along with the external stimuli from their environment and relationships. Within the physical body we have the seven main chakras, which are vortices of light information. They run along the spine and correlate to and regulate the functioning of our glandular endocrine system. We also have several minor chakras and hundreds of tiny chakras all around our body that serve their own separate purposes and functions when it comes to the proper flow of our energy. Chakras govern the intake and output of energetic electrical signals and photonic light from within and outside of the body. They process everything we experience and how we respond to our environment. This extends beyond the physical and includes how we spiritually perceive and experience the world. Exercise: Sitting in the Silence Find a comfortable seat where your spine can maintain its natural curves. Set a timer on your phone, clock, or app for five minutes. Before starting it, take a few slow, deep diaphragmatic breaths. If the mind is more active today, then take a few moments to practice the equal-part breathing with counting. When you’re ready, let the counting and concentrated breathing practice go, and start your timer. Close your eyes and allow yourself just to sit in silence for this time, noticing and neutrally observing what comes up, but not attaching to the thoughts or reacting to them emotionally. Just allow those thoughts to come and go, like clouds passing in the sky.
