Do You Have What it Takes? Curses are not for the namby-pamby. Nor are they for fluffy bunnies or for those who insist that even the worst of horrors happen for a reason. They are for gutsy folks with the courage to do something about their situations when all other possibilities have been exhausted. But just the same, curses aren’t to be taken lightly or flung about without due cause and serious thought. They’re not your normal type of magic and certainly not anything that should be performed as readily as a protection spell or a money spell. In fact, there’s good reason that they’re usually at the top of the magical practitioner’s ten-foot-pole list. Cursing someone takes an inordinate amount of energy. Energy that you’ve stored for other things, like the simple business of everyday living. And cursing someone effectively is going to wipe out all your reserves. It's important to remember that you’re going to be transferring that energy to the person on the other end of your magic. Lost and Away Powder When dealing with folks who can’t seem to mind their own business, use this powder to get them out of your life and banish them for good. I’m told that it’s also an excellent tool for keeping others from breaking through psychic boundaries. Crossroads DirtMistletoeOrrisSageSulfur (the heads from three matches works nicely) The Vinegar Bath Long known for its healing and curative properties, vinegar also has the capacity to slice through psychic grime, making it perfect for this bath. 1 cup apple cider vinegar1 tablespoon salt Add the ingredients to a warm tub of water, then stir clockwise with your index finger until well mixed. Oshun Oil Dedicated to the Goddess of the same name, this oil is not only used by women to draw love and money but as a protection from enemies as well. To stay on the good side of Oshun, always taste the honey before adding it, so She knows it isn’t poisoned. AniseCinnamonHoney (a drop or two will do it)JasmineOrange PeelRose Putting a Hex or a Curse in Magical Reverse If you’ve resorted to this section, you obviously can’t retrieve the remnants of your original spell. You may have delivered a curse on the power of words alone. You may have opted to go the gift route and delivered something with a built-in hex. In either case though, you have absolutely nothing to work with that’s going to be of any help. This means that you’re going to need a lot of resolve, some serious focus, and the tenacity of the most willful bulldog. But if you’re willing to work at this, there’s no doubt you’ll succeed. The first thing you’ll need to have in hand is a copy of any words (incantations, evocations, verbal curses, etc.) that you may have said while casting the original spell. If you kept a copy of it, grab it now, and thank the Gods for making you so analretentive. If you didn’t though, do your best to call it up, and spend some time writing it down. Next, obtain an old, knitted sweater. The color isn’t important. Neither is the size. In this case, only two things matter: 1) You have never actually worn the sweater, and 2) you’re willing to reduce it to yarn. If you don’t already have something suitable on hand, check your local thrift shop. Once you have the sweater, gather the paper on which the incantations are written and a black permanent marker. Now write the words on the sweater. It’s not important that they’re legible; it’s only important that they’ve been written on the sweater and that you have done it yourself. Use the front and back if necessary.
