SATURN (SHANI) Of the nine planets traditionally used in Jyotish, Saturn is the slowest. The speed of this planet is of major significance. Shani is the servant in the planetary scheme, and he moves slowly. Known as the karmic taskmaster, he represents duty, responsibility, structure, discipline, sorrow, and mundane tasks.
