Paper Marbling With Alcohol Ink Marbling has been around for centuries and is still a popular form of art today. The colors and patterns can be bold and vibrant or soft and pretty. The oldest paper-marbling technique is called suminagashi (floating ink), which dates to the twelfth century in Japan.
